As of 2025, travelers from non-EU countries will need to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization before traveling to the Schengen Area. The ETIAS is a new EU travel authorization system that will be implemented on November 23, 2023, and will become mandatory for all non-EU citizens on November 23, 2025.

To apply for an ETIAS authorization, travelers will need to complete an online form and pay a fee of €7. The authorization will be valid for three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
